Blanket Stitch ATC

Either cut a piece of lightweight cardboard the size of a playing card or use a playing card. Glue a piece of fabric onto the card and trim around the edges if necessary. Use a pointed tool to pierce holes along the edge of the card about 1/2 inch apart. Using the blanket embroidery stitch, go all around the edge using a contrasting color of embroidery floss. Make an inkjet copy of a public domain photo or picture and transfer the image onto a piece of muslin or other light colored fabric. Sew a running stitch around the rectangle of muslin with a complementary color of floss and then glue it to the card using acrylic matte medium or Yes! glue. Embellish with buttons or measuring tape or other found objects.
